The State Election Commission of Gujarat has temporarily postponed the elections for Gram Panchayats in several talukas, citing administrative overlap with the bypolls for Kadi and Visavadar in the state.According to the circular issued from the office of the State Election Commission, the scheduled panchayat elections in affected talukas have been temporarily postponed in–Kadi and Detroj talukas of Mehsana districtVisavadar, Bhesan, Junagadh (rural) talukas of Junagadh districtBagasara taluka of Amreli districtThe circular states that conducting panchayat elections immediately after these by-elections would be impractical due to logistical and administrative constraints, as the staff will be assigned the by-election duties for Assembly seats.As a result, the term of all Gram Panchayats scheduled for elections in these talukas has been extended temporarily. The new schedule for the elections will be announced at a later date.The notification has been signed by GC Brahmbhatt, Secretary, State Election Commission, Gujarat.Notably, The Gujarat State Election Commission officially announced the Gram Panchayat elections for 8,326 villages across the state.   1. Kadi and Detroj talukas of Mehsana district
  2. Visavadar, Bhesan, Junagadh (rural) talukas of Junagadh district
  3. Bagasara taluka of Amreli district
