Structured Engagements Across the Nation
The engagement drive was initiated following directives from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Dr. Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Dr. Vivek Joshi, during the Chief Electoral Officers' conference held in March 2025. The nationwide meetings included 40 sessions by CEOs, 800 by DEOs, and 3,879 by EROs. The primary objective was to resolve pending issues within the existing legal framework of the Representation of the People Acts of 1950 and 1951, the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960, and the Conduct of Elections Rules, 1961. State and Union Territory CEOs have been tasked with submitting action-taken reports, with unresolved issues to be escalated to the Commission for further review.
