COVID-19 Cases In Delhi: Capital Records 104 Active Cases; One Patient Admitted To AIIMS, CM Rekha Gupta Issues Advisory
As Delhi crossed the 100-mark in active infections, CM Rekha Gupta on Monday assured the public that the government is closely monitoring the situation and has issued necessary guidelines to all hospitals.

Covid Cases In Delhi: Delhi is reporting over 100 new Covid-19 infections in a single day, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday sought to reassure the public, stating that the administration is alarmed and proactively following all the developments, and had issued updated protocols to hospitals in surge of any emergency.
Delhi COVID-19 Cases: CM Says Situaiton Under Control
The government has appealed to the people to remain calm and follow all the precautions, CM Gupta said: “Hospitals have received procedural plans, to increase the number of testing and the government is closely monitoring the whole situation.”
She added that government hospitals throughout the city are well equipped and have the infrastructure to handle an increase in cases. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has data indicating that there are presently 104 active COVID-19 cases in Delhi.
CM Rekha Gupta said, ” There is no reason to panic, the situation is under control as the development is being monitored”
Earlier in the month, the Delhi government issued a Covid-19 advisory requesting healthcare facilities to keep adequate levels of beds, oxygen, essential medications and all possible vaccines.
As well as, health authorities are advising hospitals to send all positive Covid-19 samples to Lok Nayak Hospital for genome sequencing i.e. to identify variants.
Government is also observing the travel history of the patients whether they have travelled to other states or not. Most of the Covid-19 cases reside with the JN.1 variant of covid-19.
COVID-19 Cases In India
The Union Health Ministry has reported 1,009 new Covid-19 cases in India. The most cases were reported in Kerala 430 and Maharashtra 209 cases. Seven deaths have also been reported, consisting of five in Maharashtra, two in Kerala, and one in Karnataka.
The Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG) says the recent increase in infections is associated with the NB.1.8.1 and LF.7 sub-lineages of the JN.1 variant.
