Gujarat health dept issues PMJAY guidelines: ₹10 lakh cashless cover for govt employees, pensioners
The Health Department of Gujarat issued guidelines for all state government officers, employees, and pensioners to avail benefits under the PMJAY scheme.In which 'Gujarat Karmayogi Swasth Suraksha Yojana' has been launched for All India Services (AIS) officers, state government officers, employees and pensioners in the state. Under this scheme, all employees will get cashless treatment up to ₹10 lakh per family through 'G' category card under the PMJAY scheme. The allocation of PMJAY scheme cards has been entrusted to the State Health Agency (SHA).A certificate showing the details of the employees and their family members eligible under the Gujarat State Service (Medical Treatment) Rules will have to be submitted, where the head of the respective office will have to issue a certificate in the prescribed format, including Aadhaar number of each family member for E-KYC.In the case of fixed-salary government employees, if their service is terminated without a formal appointment, or if they leave the job due to resignation, disciplinary action, or any other reason not qualifying them for pension as per the applicable pension rules, they will not be considered pensioners. In such cases, the Head of the Office where the employee last served must notify the State Health Agency (SHA). Based on this information, SHA will remove the names of the concerned employee and their family members from the list of beneficiaries under the PMJAY scheme.
