Gujarat grapple with Tuberculosis cases, monthly 380 cases in 2025
Gujarat ranks sixth among Indian states in terms of the highest number of Tuberculosis (TB) cases recorded in a year. However, as per the Health Department numbers, there has been a significant decline of 37% in TB-related deaths and a 34% drop in new cases over the past eight years.In 2024, Gujarat recorded 1.39 lakh TB cases. Uttar Pradesh topped the list with 6.81 lakh cases. From January to April 2025, 45,282 new TB cases were registered, with 1,011 deaths. In just four months of 2025, a total of eight patients died of TB. In the same period of 2024–25, deaths had been recorded at 2,201.
