Heavy rain in Ahmedabad late at night causes waterlogging, brings cool weather
On the intervening night between Wednesday and Thursday, several areas of Ahmedabad were suddenly hit by heavy rainfall accompanied by lightning. The downpour began around 2 am and brought significant changes in the atmosphere, with a noticeable drop in temperature.Heavy rain lashed multiple localities in Ahmedabad, including S G Highway, Juhapura-Sarkhej, Vatva, Ghodasar, New Ranip, Chandkheda, Motera, Shahibaug, Income-Tax, Navrangpura, and Maninagar. The India Meteorological Department had already predicted rain in advance, and the forecast appears to have proven accurate. Additionally, strong winds have also been forecasted for the next few days.According to reports, the rain was so intense in some parts of Ahmedabad that knee-deep water accumulated at Ajit Mill crossroads in Bapunagar and near Vorana Roza in Amdupura, causing inconvenience to commuters. Even though the rain stopped later in the night, the water had still not drained by morning.
