The activists were later released by the police.The MNS activists had hit the streets to counter a morcha organised by traders.MNS activists strongly protested the police’s decision to allow traders to hold a rally while denying their request to organise a march.The traders had organised the morcha to protest against the beating of a shopkeeper by MNS workers the previous week.Many prominent MNS leaders and office bearers were detained on Monday night.MNS leader Avinash Jadhav was detained by police, and notices under Section 163 were issued to all MNS leaders.
