Surat-Nagaland fake gun licence scam: Another accused arrested from Mehsana
In an ongoing investigation of fake weapons license scam, the Surat Crime Branch arrested a businessman from Mehsana who was on the wanted list for purchasing arms using the fake licence acquired from Nagaland.Mukesh Rabari (33), a resident of Kadi, Mehsana, was the 11th accused arrested in the cartel of purchasing guns using fake licences.In last month’s raid, the Surat Crime Branch arrested the owner of Gajanand Gunhouse in Katargam.The crime branch also arrested three other individuals - Dilip Roy, Kalpesh Mangukiya, and Meru Bela who allegedly purchased weapons from Patel.The police seized 20 weapons, 93 cartridges, and four fake weapon licences. A total of 13 people were declared wanted in the entire scam.Investigation revealed that the documents were sent to the Police Commissioner’s Office in Dimapur via couriers, and licenses were received without any physical verification. A total of 51 weapons were traced in this scam.A key associate, Sela Boliya of Kamrej used to get a fake licence from Nagaland with the help of Haryana’s Asif.The crime branch had identified 11 people who purchased arms from Patel and were added to the wanted list.
