Bogus income proof case: 100 people questioned at Rajpipla Police Station
In the case of bogus income proofs in Narmada district, 700 documents have been examined so far, and 100 people were questioned at Rajpipla police station on Sunday.The police swung into action after questions were raised in the District Coordination Committee meeting. A special investigation team (SIT) has been formed by the Narmada SP. In this regard, the chairman of the SIT, DySP, said that Narmada police has examined 700 documents and 100 people were questioned at Rajpipla police station.If the documents are found to be bogus, all fake income proof holders will be considered accused. If any government officer or private agency is found involved in this case of fake documents, they too will be treated as accused.Earlier this month, a police complaint was registered against five individuals in Nandod taluka of Narmada district for making fake income certificates to get admission in schools under the Right to Education.When the income certificates reached the officer of the Director of Primary Education in Gandhinagar for verification, they were sent to the Talati on WhatsApp for cross-checking.Talati Krishnaben Shah of Bhadam Gram Panchayat in Nandod stated in the police complaint, “I have been on duty as Talati at Bhadam Gram Panchayat for the last one and a half years. On April 23, 2025, an officer from the Director of Primary Education in Gandhinagar sent a photo of an income statement on WhatsApp. The statement was of a person named Rahulbhai Prajapati, a resident of Bhadam village, dated March 6, 2025. In this statement, my fake signature and the Panchayat’s fake stamps were found.”“In this matter, the Gram Panchayat’s computer operator said that it was not generated by the system and the serial number of the statement was also found to be wrong,” she added.From Gandhinagar, the officer had sent a total of six income statements from Gamkuva Gram Panchayat, Boridra Group Gram Panchayat (Vanjar Village), Bhacharwada Gram Panchayat, and Sundarpura Gram Panchayat for verification.It was found that all the income proof forms were generated from the system of Sundarpura Gram Panchayat. The matter was reported to the Taluka Development Officer and a police complaint was registered.
