Rajasthan CM Bhajanlal Sharma's charter makes wrong landing (Representative image)A charter flight carrying Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma from Delhi to the Indian Air Force station in Phalodi mistakenly landed at a nearby civil airstrip, 5 km away from the destination, on Thursday.As per media reports, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has launched an investigation into this case and grounded the pilots.The aircraft company of Falcon 2000, Dassault Aviation, filed a voluntary report on “wrong airport landing incident” with DGCA, TOI reported.“Seemingly, there was an inadequate pre-flight briefing about the presence of two airfields in close vicinity. Pilots must get a proper pre-flight briefing, and that is something operators need to work on to ensure such things don’t happen,” sources told the publication.With a maximum range of approximately 3,500 miles, the Falcon 2000 is capable of flying non-stop on routes such as New York to Los Angeles or London to Istanbul. However, only a limited number of Falcon 2000s are configured to accommodate up to 19 passengers.Chief ministers in India get chartered or private aircraft for certain kinds of travel. The charter flights typically cost about ₹4–5 lakh/hour.

A charter flight carrying Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma from Delhi to the Indian Air Force station in Phalodi mistakenly landed at a nearby civil airstrip, 5 km away from the destination, on Thursday.
