India’s Annu Rani clinched gold at the World Athletics Continental Tour event in Poland with her 62.59 m throw, as per reports.This was her first throw beyond 60 metres in a year, marking a significant return to form for the javelin thrower.Next, she will compete in Bhubaneswar for a similar World Athletics Continental Tour bronze-level meet, according to reports.Rani faced disappointments at the Paris 2024 Olympics, as she failed to advance to the finals. Annu Rani, the national record holder in women’s javelin throw, had registered a best effort of 55.81 metres during the qualification round at Stade de France.Back then, her three attempts saw distances of 55.81m, 53.22m, and 53.55m. Despite her best efforts, she finished 15th in Group A and did not meet the qualification standard of 62.00 meters.
