Two caught impersonating SOG police and extorting money from public
Ahmedabad police have arrested two individuals for creating fake ID cards claiming to be head constables of the Special Operations Group (SOG), which operates under the Crime Branch, and using them to extort money from the public.The Crime Branch apprehended Nayan Dineshbhai Parmar and Gaurang Jeevanlal Bhil from Saraspur for posing as fake policemen using counterfeit SOG ID cards. Meanwhile, a search has been launched for Naresh Mavjibhai Radia, a resident of Sardarnagar.The SOG team received a tip-off that two individuals were planning to travel via bike on the Narol–Naroda Road while carrying fake police ID cards. When Parmar and Bhil were stopped and questioned, the police recovered SOG ID cards that falsely identified them as police officers.Further investigation revealed that Nayan and Gaurang had fake head constable ID cards made by Bhil’s uncle, Nareshbhai Mavjibhai Paradiya, a resident of Sardarnagar who owns a photo studio.It came to light that around five months ago, the fake ID cards were created at his studio, and since then, Parmar and Bhil have been using them to trap and extort money from unsuspecting members of the public.Also read:Paying guest blackmailed, forced to shell out ₹3 lakh by fake police officer

In a swift operation, Ahmedabad's Special Operations Group (SOG) apprehended two individuals, Nayan Dineshbhai Parmar and Gaurang Jeevanlal Bhil, for impersonating police officers and extorting money from unsuspecting citizens. The duo, hailing from Saraspur, were found carrying counterfeit SOG identity cards bearing the insignia of the Inspector General of Police (IGP). Acting on a tip-off, the SOG team intercepted the suspects on Narol-Naroda Road. Upon frisking, fake ID cards identifying them as head constables of the SOG unit were recovered. Further investigation revealed that the counterfeit IDs were crafted approximately five months ago by an individual named Naresh Partida from Sardarnagar. The New Indian Express
The accused allegedly used these fake identities to intimidate and extort money from the public. All three individuals, including the ID forger, have been booked, and a thorough investigation is underway to uncover the extent of their fraudulent activities.
