Mumbai doctor jumps off Atal Setu after calling mother, search for body ongoing
A 32-year-old Mumbai-based doctor is suspected to have died by suicide after jumping off the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, also known as Atal Setu, shortly after informing his mother that he would be home for dinner on Monday night, as per reports.For the past two days, the Mumbai Police and Coast Guard reportedly have been searching for his body, but it has yet to be recovered.The deceased, identified as Dr Omkar Kavitke, was reportedly associated with JJ Hospital. On July 7, he left the hospital in his car and called his mother, assuring her that he was on his way home and would join the family for dinner. However, around 9.43 pm, the police control room received a report that a man had jumped off the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, which connects Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.When a police team reached the location, they discovered an unattended car and an iPhone at the spot. Using the car registration number and details from the phone, authorities confirmed that both belonged to Dr Kavitke.
