Andhra University botany museum joins national science hall of fame
Pentoxylon is an extinct plant that lived approximately 150 million years ago during the Late Jurassic period. For a long time, its structure and relationships to other plants remained unclear. Similarly, Williamsonia lived during the age of the dinosaurs, roughly 140 to 65 million years ago (Jurassic to Cretaceous periods). Liagora visakhapatnamensis, a seaweed specimen available at the museum, was first discovered on the coast of Visakhapatnam in the 1960s and identified as a new species.
