A cow miracle: Junagadh farmer’s cow produces milk without calving
A miracle has happened at a farmer’s residence in Dhandhusar village of Vanthali taluka, Junagadh where a cow has been producing around four litres of milk daily without giving birth to a calf. In 2021, a cow owned by Punjabhai Sarmanbhai Muliyasiya gave birth to a male and a female calf at the same time. Upon examining the female calf, it was found that she did not have a uterus and it never began her reproductive cycle. Recently, that cow fell slightly ill, and a veterinary doctor advised the family to start milking her. Since then, for the past two to three weeks, the cow has been producing around four litres of milk daily. In scriptures, such a cow is referred to as a ‘Kamdhenu’ – the divine, wish-fulfilling cow.According to reports, the veterinary doctor had said that since the female calf was born second, there might be some abnormalities. However, the farmer’s family raised both calves with love and care. Punjabhai stated that when the male calf turned about one and a half to two years old, he was offered to Shernath Bapu (a local spiritual figure).Punjabhai started milking around 15 to 20 days ago. Initially, she gave around 1 to 1.5 litres of milk in the morning and evening, but now she gives approximately 2 litres each time – a total of about 4 litres per day. The cow has a black tongue, black udder, and black ears. Punjabhai’s family considers her a member of their household. Punjabhai also mentioned that this cow will continue to give milk throughout her life and is unlikely to ever stop or pass away under normal circumstances. Such cows are described in scriptures as Kamdhenu – sacred and miraculous. The Muliyasiya family was offered ₹17.51 lakhs for the cow, yet they refused to sell this Gir breed cow.
