₹267 cr undisbursed as Gujarat lags behind in implementing ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme

The Lakhpati Didi scheme, introduced by the central government, is designed to support this shift by equipping women with business and entrepreneurship training, facilitating access to loans and subsidies, and providing crucial marketing assistance to help them establish and grow their ventures.According to a report presented in Parliament, 6,06,805 women in Gujarat have benefited from the Lakhpati Didi scheme. In comparison, Maharashtra has 22.69 lakh beneficiaries, Andhra Pradesh 17.41 lakh, Madhya Pradesh 12.84 lakh, Uttar Pradesh 11.15 lakh, West Bengal 11.59 lakh, and Odisha 7.80 lakh women who have become Lakhpati Didis. It has been revealed that the central government has generously granted funds worth several crores of rupees to states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Haryana, Punjab, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu under the Lakhpati Didi scheme.
