Surat ACP dismissed for presenting bogus caste certificate during recruitment
Surat Police ACP B M Chaudhary, serving in the C Division, was dismissed by the Director General of Police (DGP) on Wednesday. Chaudhary had submitted a fake caste certificate during his recruitment as a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) in 1993. Following a complaint received by senior police officials, an investigation was ordered. The probe revealed that the caste certificate provided by B M Chaudhary was fraudulent.As a result, DGP Vikas Sahay ordered his immediate dismissal, based on the findings of the DGP office, strict action was taken against the officer who was promoted from PSI to ACP.According to sources, a few months ago a complaint was received against ACP Chaudhary, stating that he had submitted a bogus caste certificate during his direct PSI recruitment. Following the complaint, a high-level investigation was conducted, and the verification confirmed that the certificate was forged.Consequently, under the directive of the Home Department, the DGP ordered his dismissal on Wednesday, and Chaudhary was immediately relieved of his duties. A senior Home Department official stated that B M Chaudhary joined the police force as a direct PSI in 1993. He was later promoted to Police Inspector after 10 years and then to ACP in 2019.Chaudhary served in the police force for a total of 32 years based on the forged certificate. The probe is underway under the supervision of senior officials.
