Fire breaks out at Bakrol warehouse, 70 tonnes of material destroyed

A massive fire erupted in the early hours of Tuesday at the Jay Ambe Trading Company warehouse in Shyam Industrial Park, Plot No. 434, Bakrol. The blaze, which destroyed approximately 70 tonnes of packaging and raw paper-based materials, triggered a large-scale firefighting operation involving multiple agencies.  The Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Service swiftly responded, deploying three fire engines to the site. Reinforcements arrived from Nadiad and Gandhinagar fire stations, bringing the total to five firefighting vehicles, including water bowsers and a first-response vehicle.  Around 25 firefighters worked relentlessly to douse the flames, employing a water relay system to ensure an uninterrupted supply of water to different sections of the warehouse. To access the fire-affected areas, teams used JCB machines for forcible entry and installed ventilation systems to disperse smoke and improve visibility.  The blaze was brought under control without any casualties. Advanced firefighting techniques and mechanical tools played a crucial role in managing the situation efficiently.  “While the exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, preliminary assessments indicate extensive damage to raw materials and packaging stock. We are yet to estimate the monetary value of the loss.” Said Om Jadeja, Divisional Fire Officer. Also read:Firefighters contain major blaze at Vatva GIDC factory; one injured
