3 Pakistani terrorists killed in Harwan encounter

Three terrorists were on Monday neutralised in an intense firefight near the Harwan area of Srinagar, Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said.

These terrorists were killed in the ‘Operation Mahadev’ that was launched by the Army. Contact with terrorists was established in the morning in General Area Lidwas.

The terrorists are suspected to be Pakistani nationals and members of The Resistance Front (TRF).

Security forces will “take some time” to identify the neutralized terrorists, a police officer said.

Earlier in the morning, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Harwan area of the city near the Dachigam National Park, officials said.

The security forces, acting on an intelligence input, launched an anti-terrorist operation in the Mulnar area of Harwan and several rounds of gunshots were heard from a distance as security personnel were carrying out searches.

Reinforcements were rushed to the area, and the combing operations intensified to track down the terrorists, they said.
