Mother allegedly kills 3 minor daughters by mixing pesticides in 'varan bhat' in Thane
A 27-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing her three minor daughters by mixing pesticides into their food in Maharashtra's Thane district.According to reports, Sandhya Sandeep Bere, a resident of the Shahapur area in Thane, allegedly mixed a pesticide into varan bhat (a traditional rice and lentil dish) and served it to her daughters, aged 5, 8, and 10, last week.When the girls began experiencing severe health issues, they were hospitalised but later died on separate days.At the time, the police registered the case as accidental deaths. However, an autopsy report received on Saturday night confirmed the presence of poison in the children's bodies, according to reports.The police then registered a case of murder against Sandhya and arrested her on Sunday.Reports suggest that the accused had been grappling with domestic issues involving her alcoholic husband. She allegedly committed the crime because she was unable to raise the three daughters on her own.
