Bopal stockbroker suicide case: two men who lent gun arrested, linked to victim’s past fraud cases

Accused who delivered firearm to victimIn a significant development in the mysterious death of Kalpesh Tudiya, a 41-year-old stockbroker from Bopal, police have arrested two men from Surendranagar — Sahirkhan Nasibkhan Malik and Rasidkhan Mahamaadkhan Malik — who allegedly delivered the firearm used in the suicide and later fled the scene with the weapon. The two accused, both known to Kalpesh and previously involved with him in cheating cases registered in Morbi and Rajkot, were apprehended following sustained investigation and electronic surveillance. Their arrest has shed new light on the circumstances leading to Kalpesh’s death.According to police officials, Kalpesh had contacted several acquaintances in the days leading up to the incident, allegedly seeking help to procure a firearm for personal use. Sahirkhan and Rasidkhan reportedly managed to borrow a weapon from a third party and brought it to Kalpesh’s residence in Bopal.“During questioning, the two admitted that they had come to deliver the firearm at Kalpesh’s request. After handing over the gun, they were preparing to leave when they heard a gunshot. On re-entering the room, they found Kalpesh had shot himself. Panicked, they took the weapon and fled, fearing they would be implicated,” said a senior officer associated with the case.Ballistics experts have confirmed that the gun was the one used in the fatal shooting, supporting the suicide theory. “We have recovered the firearm, and forensic ballistics confirms it as the weapon used. A case under the Arms Act has been initiated against the two men, and further investigation is underway to identify the original owner of the gun,” the officer added. While forensic evidence points towards suicide, investigators are still awaiting the results of the handwriting analysis of the suicide note, which will be key to confirming whether Kalpesh penned it himself. The note allegedly states that he had lent ₹25 lakh to someone who was refusing to repay, pushing him to take the extreme step.Kalpesh’s death on July 30 initially raised suspicion, especially after it was revealed that the weapon was missing from the scene and his 14-year-old daughter and wife — both present in the house — displayed what police described as “unusually composed” behaviour following the incident.Police are continuing to examine all possible angles, including whether Kalpesh was abetted or provoked into taking his life. CCTV footage from the locality is being reviewed to trace the movements of the two arrested men before and after the incident.“We are investigating financial, personal, and criminal angles. The arrest of Sahirkhan and Rasidkhan, who had past associations with the deceased in fraud cases, is a crucial step forward. But we are not ruling out further arrests,” said District Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat.Kalpesh’s post-mortem has been completed, and police have appealed for public patience and cooperation as they work to unravel the full truth behind the case.

In a significant development in the mysterious death of Kalpesh Tudiya, a 41-year-old stockbroker from Bopal, police have arrested two men from Surendranagar — Sahirkhan Nasibkhan Malik and Rasidkhan Mahamaadkhan Malik — who allegedly delivered the firearm used in the suicide and later fled the scene with the weapon.

The two accused, both known to Kalpesh and previously involved with him in cheating cases registered in Morbi and Rajkot, were apprehended following sustained investigation and electronic surveillance. Their arrest has shed new light on the circumstances leading to Kalpesh’s death.

According to police officials, Kalpesh had contacted several acquaintances in the days leading up to the incident, allegedly seeking help to procure a firearm for personal use. Sahirkhan and Rasidkhan reportedly managed to borrow a weapon from a third party and brought it to Kalpesh’s residence in Bopal.

“During questioning, the two admitted that they had come to deliver the firearm at Kalpesh’s request. After handing over the gun, they were preparing to leave when they heard a gunshot. On re-entering the room, they found Kalpesh had shot himself. Panicked, they took the weapon and fled, fearing they would be implicated,” said a senior officer associated with the case.

Ballistics experts have confirmed that the gun was the one used in the fatal shooting, supporting the suicide theory.

The note allegedly states that he had lent ₹25 lakh to someone who was refusing to repay, pushing him to take the extreme step.

Kalpesh’s death on July 30 initially raised suspicion, especially after it was revealed that the weapon was missing from the scene and his 14-year-old daughter and wife — both present in the house — displayed what police described as “unusually composed” behaviour following the incident.

Police are continuing to examine all possible angles, including whether Kalpesh was abetted or provoked into taking his life. CCTV footage from the locality is being reviewed to trace the movements of the two arrested men before and after the incident.

“We are investigating financial, personal, and criminal angles. The arrest of Sahirkhan and Rasidkhan, who had past associations with the deceased in fraud cases, is a crucial step forward. But we are not ruling out further arrests,” said District Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat.

Kalpesh’s post-mortem has been completed, and police have appealed for public patience and cooperation as they work to unravel the full truth behind the case.
