Two Arrested in ATM Card Swapping Scam in Daman | Kachigam Police Action
Kachigam Police arrested two accused in an ATM card swapping fraud in Daman. The suspects tricked a man at Somnath ATM and withdrew ₹34,000 illegally.

Daman, February 24, 2025 – Kachigam Police Station has successfully cracked an ATM card swapping case and arrested two accused involved in the fraud.
According to police sources, the case was registered on February 14, 2025, following a complaint by Ramsingh Sain (49), a resident of Dabhel, Nani Daman. The complainant alleged that on February 10, 2025, while withdrawing cash from an ATM in Somnath, Daman, two unidentified men told him that his card had been blocked. They took his ATM card under the pretext of helping him, asked for his PIN, and later returned a different card.
Soon after, his wife received SMS alerts about two unauthorized withdrawals of ₹17,000 each, revealing that the card had been swapped.
Taking the matter seriously, police formed a special investigation team. CCTV footage from the ATM, nearby streets, and border areas was collected and analyzed. The probe led to the identification of Chandankumar Manik Singh, a resident of Vapi Dongra and originally from Nawada, Bihar.
Although police conducted multiple raids at his residence and native place, the accused managed to evade arrest several times. With the help of technical surveillance and confidential intelligence, Chandankumar was eventually arrested from Daman.
During interrogation, he confessed to his involvement and revealed the name of his associate, Ayodhya Narayan Singh, a resident of Vapi Dongra and originally from Gaya, Bihar. Acting swiftly, police also arrested Ayodhya Narayan Singh from the Daman region.
Police confirmed that further investigation is underway to trace if the accused are linked to similar ATM card fraud cases in the region.
