DNH Police Arrest Two Persons in ₹14.28 Lakh Cigarette Burglary Case

Silvassa, August 28, 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Dadra and Nagar Haveli Police arrested two persons in connection with a cigarette burglary case worth ₹14.28 lakh. The burglary had taken place at Bhagwati Enterprise Godown, K.K. Building, near H.P. Patel Petrol Pump, Amli, Silvassa, between the night of August 22 (8:30 PM) and the morning of August 23 (9:40 AM).

CCTV Footage Leads to Arrests

During the investigation, CCTV analysis revealed that three accused individuals committed the burglary and loaded the stolen goods into a Mahindra Jeeto Plus Mini Truck. The movement of the vehicle was tracked using CCTV footage and further confirmed through local intelligence inputs.

Successful Police Operation

Following sustained efforts, the police managed to apprehend two accused persons along with the Mahindra Jeeto Plus Mini Truck (bearing registration number DD01 9746) loaded with the stolen cigarette cartons. The recovery was made from Pipariya, Gujarat.

Hunt for Third Accused

While two suspects are now in custody, efforts are underway to trace the third absconding accused. Police officials have assured that strict action will be taken and further investigation is in progress.

The operation was led by the Silvassa Police team under the guidance of senior officials. The authorities lauded the swift response, effective use of CCTV surveillance, and intelligence coordination in cracking the case within days.
