Daman, September 3, 2025: In a major breakthrough, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Daman Police arrested an accused who had been absconding for the past 12 months in connection with a high-profile theft case. The accused was nabbed from Vapi after a sustained and well-coordinated operation.

According to police officials, the case dates back to 17th October 2024, when complainant Bhura Bokadia, a businessman from Daman, reported a burglary at his shop located in Green View Apartment, Nani Daman. The culprits allegedly stole jewellery worth around ₹15.5 lakh during the break-in. Based on the complaint, a case was registered under IPC Section 457/380 at Nani Daman Police Station.

Police Investigation & Manhunt

Despite multiple raids and search operations across various locations, the accused managed to remain underground for nearly a year. The SIT continued to track leads and eventually zeroed in on the suspect’s hideout in Vapi.

On September 3, 2025, after thorough surveillance, police arrested Karan Ramesh Sinde (26 years, Nani Daman resident). The arrest was made under FIR No. 47/2024 along with several other theft and burglary cases registered against him, including under Sections 379, 188, 269 IPC.

Series of Cases Against Accused

Officials confirmed that the accused was wanted in multiple theft cases registered at Nani Daman Police Station and other police stations. His repeated offences and absconding behavior made him one of the most wanted suspects in Daman over the past year.
