Rahul Gandhi to stay overnight in Gujarat constituencies during his visit
Rahul Gandhi is preparing a program to spend at least a day in multiple assembly constituency of Gujarat. He is expected to visit Gujarat two to three times a month. In a shift from traditional approaches, Gandhi will not stay in hotels but instead stay at the homes of district and taluka party presidents, sharing meals with them. During these visits, he will also hold discussions with taluka and district panchayat members, both winners and defeated candidates, as well as former MLAs to understand ground realities. This new approach was shared during a 10-day training camp in Junagadh, held under the guidance of the AICC (All India Congress Committee). Addressing district and city Congress presidents at the camp, Rahul Gandhi indicated that by the time he returns on the 18th, a detailed constituency-wise program may be finalised. The plan is to ensure that by 2027, Rahul Gandhi will have visited every assembly seat in Gujarat.Congress leaders believe this grassroots strategy will strengthen the party’s organisation at the booth level, while political observers note that the BJP is also watching the move with concern. Whether Rahul Gandhi’s direct involvement can deliver success to Congress in Gujarat remains a topic of active political debate.
