The incident reportedly occurred during the night of September 6.As per reports, a junior sailor on guard duty was approached by a man in naval uniform who claimed to be his relief. The sailor handed over his weapon and post, but soon after, it was discovered that the individual and the rifle were both untraceable.A large-scale search has since been launched to locate the missing weapon and ammunition. The Navy is coordinating efforts with Mumbai Police, while multiple government agencies are also involved in the probe.The Indian Navy confirmed that a board of inquiry has been convened to examine the sequence of events and assured full cooperation with the ongoing investigation.
