Sanjay Raut slams India-Pak Asia Cup clash, alleges financial gains for Pakistan from gambling
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut launched a sharp attack over the India-Pakistan Asia Cup encounter, calling the match an insult to the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and their families.“It is shameless that such a match was even held. This is a disrespect to our Armed Forces, to the soldiers who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack, and to the women who lost their sindoor,” Raut said, referring to the recent attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam where 28 lives were lost in action.Raut further alleged that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earned nearly ₹1,000 crore from the event, while a massive gambling racket worth ₹1.5 lakh crore was also linked to the match. “Out of this, around ₹50,000 crore has gone straight to Pakistan,” he claimed.Highlighting contradictions in government policy, Raut pointed out that India had urged international lenders like the IMF and Asian Development Bank not to provide loans to Pakistan on the grounds that the money would fund terrorism. “And yet, yesterday, Amit Shah’s son ensured money reached Pakistan through cricket. This is their strategy to strengthen Pakistan’s terror machinery so that they attack us, and in return, they gain political mileage,” he alleged.
