A video from Solapur, Maharashtra, is going viral, in which Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Anjana Krishna can be seen engaged in an argument.As per reports, IPS Krishna had gone to Kurdu village in Solapur to take action on a complaint of illegal excavation of murum (sand) for road construction. When action was taken, an argument broke out between locals and police. Later, NCP worker Baba Jagtap directly called Deputy CM Ajit Pawar and handed the phone over to IPS Krishna.When the IPS officer failed to recognise Pawar’s voice, he reportedly snapped, “I am the Deputy Chief Minister, stop the action. Should I take action against you? Do you have that much courage? “The Maratha agitation is going on in Mumbai, the atmosphere is tense, there is no need to continue this action now,” he reportedly added.The opposition claims that an NCP member involved in the illegal mining called Ajit Pawar from his phone and asked him to speak to IPS officer Krishna.Madha MP from NCP (SP), Dhairyasheel Mohite Patil — whose constituency includes Kurdu village — told TOI, “After the video came out, I gathered more details and learned that villagers had complained about the sand mining. Following this, the IPS officer, along with the district administration team, reached the site.
