Only 524 out of 40,289 Gujarat schools secure A+ under Gunotsav 2.0
The Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT) has declared the results of Gunotsav 2.0 (School Accreditation) 2024-25. Out of a total of 40,289 government schools in Gujarat, including primary and high schools, only 524 schools have received A+ grade in Gunotsav-2.0.Due to continuous monitoring, the number of schools in A+ and A grades has increased from 2,971 to 9,388 in just one year, claimed the Education Department.The number of primary and ashram schools in A grade has increased by 94% compared to last year. Last year, there were only 1,919 schools in A grade, which has increased to 4,442 this year.Gunotsav has been organized for the last many years to check the quality of government schools in the state. After 10 years of implementing Gunotsav, Gunotsav 2.0 was launched with a new change in evaluation. In the first year of Gunotsav 2.0 (2019-20), the number of schools with A+ grade in Gujarat was only 14.After that, the government is claiming that the quality of schools has increased due to the monitoring and evaluation of new methods by the Vidya Samiksha Kendra for the last few years.According to the results released this year, Out of 40,289 schools in the state, only 524 schools have got A+ grade, which is an increase of 111 compared to the previous year. Out of the total 524 schools, 383 are primary and ashram schools and 141 are secondary-higher secondary schools. Last year, there were only 413 schools with A+ grade.If we look at the results of primary and ashram schools, 4,442 schools have come in A grade, which was only 1616 schools last year. Similarly, 29,982 schools have been included in B grade this year, 1,327 in C grade and 102 in D grade. Out of a total of 7,092 schools in secondary and higher secondary, 1422 schools have been included in A-grade, 4,999 in B-grade, 530 in C grade and only 3 schools have been included in D grade.
